An important aim of the Regional Management is the enhancement of soft location factors of Miesbach District. That includes, of course, the establishment of business-friendly administration structures, which can be improved tremendously by the installation of E-Government services.
For that reason the Regional Management coordinates a workshop with the institute Fraunhofer FOKUS, which is specialized in the field of the integration of IT-systems into administrative systems, different communes of the district, members of the district office, the Technical University of Munich, representatives of the Bavarian municipal assembly, representatives of the Bavarian district assembly and members of the Bavarian ministry of finance.
Aim of the workshop is to identify those administrative processes, which can be improved by E-Government structures.
The Katholisches Bildungswerk Miesbach (Catholic Education Institution Miesbach) organized in fall 2010 the first “Miesbach Region Weeks” and is already planning a second event in 2011.
They have been working closely together with the Regional Management of the SMG, the Amt für Ernährung, Landschaft und Forsten (Office for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forests) and the Tourismusverband Alpenregion Tegernsee Schliersee (Tourist Board Alp Region Tegernsee Schliersee).
The “Miesbach Region Weeks” were one of the biggest event series of the National Day of the Region in 2010. Farmers, artisans, creative artists, village shops and enterprises of the district presented their products and services in small and in big events, which took place in different communes of the district. So the multifaceted cultural, culinary and artisan range of the region could be discovered by both locals and visitors.
On 11th and 12th of October 2011 the Regional Management of the SMG hosted the Investor Days Tegernsee Schliersee to bring the varied investment opportunities of Miesbach District to the attention of investors and project developers.
On a two day round trip through the region the participants were shown current construction projects, development areas and investment properties. They were also given information about the economical situation of the district and could make preliminary contacts to local decision-makers.
Because this event met with a positive response, the Regional Management of the SMG is going to repeat the Investor Days Tegernsee Schliersee in 2012.
The Regional Management has gathered information about the commercial areas and business properties in personal conversations with the majors of the communes with the aim of creating a database with all the available lands and properties. For every land and property an exposé has been published on the website of the SMG. To provide more information about the properties and their surrounding areas, the database has been linked to the GeoPortal of Miesbach District.
The Economy Banquet of Miesbach District is to be considered as a communication forum of the regional economy and also opens opportunities to make preliminary contacts to local decision-makers of politics and administration.
There are also economy awards with the categories “brand and image”, “lifetime achievement” and “business succession” which honor extraordinary achievements of entrepreneurs of the district.
Since 2008 the resort of settlement structures and traffic planning of the Technical University of Munich has been working on the project “Accessibility atlas for the European Metropolitan Area Munich (EMM)” on behalf of the EMM, the city of Munich and Munich’s transport association MVV.
In this project a large amount of data about the spatial structure and the range of public and individual transportation has been compiled and evaluated by established accessibility indicators.
To illustrate and develop the opportunities of a refinement of a local accessibility analysis, the accessibility atlas is to be decreased on a local level. The Regional Management coordinates the implementation of the study in the policies of Miesbach District.
To maintain and develop the existing structure of the branches, the Regional Management organizes branch meetings on a regular base. The most important branches of Miesbach District are the packaging, paper and print industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the timber processing industry and the food industry.
Personal contacts are the basis of productive cooperation and the evolution of new ideas. The branch meetings open opportunities to discover synergies of both the particular branch and the whole region.
The Entrepreneur Meetings, which take place in one of the 17 communes of Miesbach District, are to be considered as a forum of dialogue. The aim of the meetings is to bring together representatives of the entrepreneurs, politicians and citizens of the region to discuss fundamental and specific questions about the economical development.
A technology park offers a unique environment for start-up-businesses to grow because there are cost-effective office facilities, shared utilities like conference and meeting rooms and qualified personnel to help with issues of subsidies and financing.
The Regional Managements supervises a feasibility study for a technology park in Miesbach District. The study examines the feasibility of a technology park in the district in general, but it also investigates potential locations.
The Miesbach district is home of numerous producers of quality products. These producers often lack the financial means to successfully market their goods. Thus the Regional Management coordinates the activities to establish a central market hall for the district which is to serve as a platform for local producers.
The „Miesbacher Impuls“, our regional business magazine, is published three times every year and serves as a platform for the Miesbach district and the companies resident.
A large number of classic cars owners’ is registered in the Miesbach district. Consequently, a lot of potential is available to establish a classic car forum which can serve as a first point of contact for everybody interested in vintage cars.
The first step towards realizing the forum has been the writing of a location and market analysis in line with a diploma thesis which clearly demonstrated that a classic car forum in the north of the district is generally possible. In order to press ahead with the establishment of such a forum the Regional Management will organize a meeting with the different stakeholders from this sector. A mutual discussion should serve as a starting point to dovetail and coordinate further actions.
Demographic change and the resulting lack of skilled labor will hit Miesbach District just like the rest of the country and the developed world. Family-friendliness is getting a more and more important location factor to counteract the negative effects of demographic change.
It is important to create an attractive living and working space for young families. Therefore a family-friendly business environment, created by both communes and companies, is necessary.
We support companies that are willing to implement family-friendliness in their business policies. Here you can find basic information on that issue.
We are currently looking for international partner regions with similar industrial structures, in order to offer companies from the Miesbach district the possibility to initiate projects with foreign partners. The first foreign trade event focusing on Hungary took place in October 2009 in co-operation with the WVG Kainz GmbH based in Irschenberg. The aim of the event was to present the location Hungary to regional companies and to explore possible areas of cooperation.
The Regional Management accompanies a student project of the master program “Transportation Systems” of the Technical University of Munich. It will examine overarching aspects of such topics as commuter tickets, accessibility of industrial parks by public transportation or additional stops of the BOB. The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive transport concept for the whole district.

Weitere Informationen finden Sie hier.
