One foundation for the Regional Management Initiative Miesbach is the mission statement development which started in 1996. Accompanied by the Auweck GmbH for Municipal and Regional Development the mayors of all the seventeen cities and municipalities as well as people involved from the district office, the business development agency and the tourism agencies have worked together in order to establish the main fields of action that should serve as a basis for a future development. All in all ten fields of action in the categories economy, social geographical structures and tourism have been identified (see chart).

Within the three year period of sponsorship the Regional Management for the Miesbach district works on 36 predefined projects in the different fields of action.
