Miesbach is situated in the south of Bavaria, between Munich and the Alps. It offers ideal conditions for business activities. Small companies, medium-sized enterprises and global players – the multiplicity of Miesbach based companies is a significant argument.
Several rankings (for example “Prognos-Zukunftsatlas 2007” or “INSM-Studie 2009”) evaluate the Miesbach area as a region with very good future prospects. The region between Tegernsee, Schliersee and Wendelstein offers besides numerously leisure activities, a fascinating mountain region at any season. The Miesbach district borders in the east to the Rosenheim district, in the west to the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, in the north to the Munich district and in the south to Austria. Miesbach has a total area of 836,5 square kilometers. The population of 95.297 (2007) results in a population density of 110 inhabitants per square kilometer.
