Miesbach district has direct access to the infrastructural important autobahn A 8 (exit Holzkirchen, Weyarn and Irschenberg). Additionally it is accessible by autobahn A 95 (exit Sindelsdorf) and the national road B 472. From the south Miesbach is reachable by Achenpass and Inntalautobahn. The national roads B 318 and B 308 transit from the north to the south.

The Bayerische Oberlandbahn has several stops in the Miesbach district and connects it with Munich and the nationwide railway network at Munich main station. Holzkirchen and Otterfing, both located in the north of the district, are connected to the suburban railway of Munich. The local traffic between the communities is provided by RVO (Regional Transport Oberland). The international airports of Munich and Salzburg are reachable within an hour by car or train.
